Best Wings in Philadelphia

As follow up to the Cheesesteak crawl, we went on the first annual Wing Walk in order to determine who had the best wings in Philadelphia.  What we discovered is that there are many different types of wings and the way the restaurants prepare them.  The most original recipe was Kildare's (located in King of Prussia, PA).  In their preparation, they bake the wings then fry them and finally they grill them.  A triple threat.  Now onto the results.

We visited Kildare's, Moriarty's, and finally Max Brenner's.  Starting from last place:

Max Brenner -- the place known as chocolate by the bald man should stick to chocolate.  Their wings were sickening sweet.

Kildare's -- This chain restaurant prepares their wings with a whiskey sauce that is usually the right mix of sweet and spicy.  But on this night, their wings were not up to snuff.  A shame.

Varga Bar -- People rave about their wings.  In fact, a portion of my group said these were the best wings of the night.  They were very sweet.  My issue was they did not have any kick (no spice).  On the plus side, their meat falls right off the bone.  In fact, my first wing fell right on the floor.  They did have the best beer of the night.

Moriarty's -- The winner of the night.  The only downside to their wings is you get the whole chicken wing.  It was difficult for the dainty fingers of my WIng Walk mates. They had the right blend of spicy sauce  while remaining crispy (it even had a kick 20 minutes after we finished the wings).

The lesson learned from the night was wings taste good but they will kill you if eaten over 4 hours.
